Not very happy with you, Bill!

@ 11:58 PM (21 months, 25 days ago)
Tuned in to Bill Maher and of course all the commotion was centered on Foley and Bill made a statement regarding the "children" who respond when in chat rooms that I found appalling.

Bill states..."Isn't it the kids fault too for answering to someone asking if their horny? Why are they answering them?"

A news flash for you Bill... A sixteen year old boy is nothing more than "hormones on feet."

While I agree the Internet is becomming more dangerous for our young ones, so naive, and I feel the parents are responsible for the content they view and blocking it should be as important as anything they do to help guide their children in the right direction: but to take the responsibility away from the predator and place it on the children is BAD BILL!!!

You'll be hearing from me, along with other parents and also, be receiving a petition to "engage brain before putting mouth in gear!"

Otherwise, good guests, stimulating conversation but Bill is "Real Time" now, so GET REAL BILL!!!!

  1. While I like him and usually agree with him, SOMETIMES he goes a BIT too far!

He seems to not get the fact that it's the ADULTS who are responsible for their actions, NOT children, who can be manipulated easily by an experienced adult with ulterior motives.

    IMO.

  2. I agree...I think all that smoke, and the fact that he's not married, and the fact that he has no kids, oh heck...sometimes he's just a moron...but I love him!!!

  3. obviously the fault lies mostly with the adult soliciting the teenagers but we're talking about 16, 17, and 18 year old boys (news is reporting now that most were 18). They are old enough to know better. These are not children who happened into a conversation by accident. They responded and continued to respond even when the conversation took a nasty turn. They are old enough to drive, possibly old enough to vote but not mature enough to walk away from the virtual equivalent of a bad come-on line... Maher is right, these kids aren't stupid - in fact, these are bright intelligent young men whose parents trusted their judgement enough to send them to Washington to be in the page program! You are underselling their saavy to suggest that they aren't at least a little responsible for engaging the sicko.

  4. Thanks for your comment #3. Something to think about. Maybe I'm old fashioned but why wasn't he doing his job instead of going into a chat area where it is dangerous and it's been shown how dangerous it is by the body count; I have to believe the problem lies in both...one too young to understand the dangers and should not be in the job he is in, not mature enough...and an older man and someone who represents the people, should not be playing with children in chat areas.

  5. Can't agree with you on this one - I've never found him to be funny - he seems gleefully hateful. He sorta makes my skin crawl.
